St. Helens Donates $21,000 to Local High Schools

Scappoose Superintendent Paul Petersen, St. Helens Community CEO Brooke Van Vleet, and Scappoose School Board Chair Phil Lager hold large novelty check

Everyone at St. Helens Community Credit Union, as well as all three of the local high schools, want to thank every member who participated in the Team Up for Schools campaign. In just nine short months, you helped raise over $21,000 for the three local high schools.

At the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year, St. Helens Community Credit Union began its Team Up for Schools campaign. The goal was to encourage members to acquire and use one-of-three, local, high-school themed debit cards for their everyday purchases and transactions. When members used those cards, the credit union would donate 5¢ to area high schools.

On June 11, 2018, St. Helens Community President and CEO, Brooke Van Vleet proudly presented checks to each of the schools.

“The local high schools are at the heart of our communities,” stated St. Helens Community President and CEO, Brooke Van Vleet. “It’s a real honor to help support Scappoose, Rainier, and St. Helens High Schools.”

The Team Up for Schools campaign will continue to donate 5¢ to area high schools each time members of the credit union use their Scappoose, St. Helens and Rainier debit cards. If you haven’t switched to one of the high school debit cards, you can pick your team here, give us a call at 503.397.2376, or stop by any branch.
